The philosophy and the educational program of our Preschool Division are based on Active Learning and High/Scope. The multiple aspects of child development are supported with High/Scope’s fundamental concepts. This approach is based on enhancement and development of our young students’ predisposition for math, science, social studies, languages and literacy, at the same time taking initiatives, establishing social relationships and developing their character as appropriate for their age group.
Our kindergarten and preschool students also learn English through active learning and basic experimental activities. The broad learning environment includes music, visual arts, movement, physical education and a variety of club activities.
We offer ample opportunities to our preschool students to practice in order to develop their skills in the areas of research, scientific observation, questioning, multiple problem-solving, planning, evaluation and time management.
The yearly projects, which constitute the core of our end-of-year celebrations, are another asset to our preschool program. In the year 2008-2009, the kindergarten project “The Miracle of the Egg” and the preschool project “Migration” received much acclaim. Projects and activities which increase our students’ inquisitiveness will continue in the future as well.
