Our pop-rock orchestra, B Yüzü, is a source of pride for us.  It receives many awards and 1st prizes at festivals and competitions, and makes us all very proud of these accomplishments. B Yüzü is not only a music group formed by members of our school, but is also a ‘school’ for us, representing a certain culture.

B Yüzü was started in the 2002-2003 academic year.  Members were only primary school students then.  In the course of years, with its starting members and other musicians who joined later, it became a successful group, which is always getting better.

In the first years B Yüzü could not make itself well known because most music events are organized at the high school level.  With the establishment of the Hisar high school, the orchestra became well known in a short while, like two years.  The first important achievement of the group was being the 3rd best among 88 participating high schools in the inter-schools music competition, KASDAV, which took place in the 2006-2007 academic year.  After this, the orchestra has received many invitations from schools to perform, and has participated in several festivals.

During the 2007-2008 academic year, B Yüzü was one of the four music groups invited to the Spring Festival by Bilgi University. Naturally, the orchestra was proud to have such an invitation and presented a very high performance at this festival.

 B Yüzü continued its success and remarkable performance in the 12th KASDAV music competition, a traditional competition among high schools, and received two awards among 130 participating high schools.  The group received a 1st in “the best performance” category, and Buğu Pala was 3rd in the “best female soloist” category. The group participated in the competition with their song “Mercy”.

Again, a successful soloist of B Yüzü, Tuğçe Tunalılar, had an important success in the 7th Alexandria International Song & Music Festival in Egypt, where she represented Turkey in 2009.  Tuğçe Tunalılar came in 2nd among 50 competitors at the festival, with her song “You and I”.

B Yüzü has a repertoire of very wide range, consisting of pop, rock, alternative, blues, and Latin music.  Our younger talented students are strong potential for the success of B Yüzü in the future.  The orchestra is looking forward to represent Hisar School in the best possible way with their success in music.  This group also gives us the opportunity of having a wonderful day of music at one of our school’s traditional yearly events, AMFI Open air Music Festival.
