
The Hisar School has been established by the Hisar Educational Foundation that was founded in 1970, in line with the ideals of its members for creating an excellent school in our country. The school started its academic life with only the Kindergarten and the 1st grade in 1996-1997, and developed gradually with the addition of grade levels each year. With the addition of the Hisar Educational Foundation High School in the 2004-2005 academic year, Hisar School started to implement a program covering a two year pre-school education, a primary school with grades from 1 to 8, and a high school program with two class levels and a prep class in front of it.
Hisar School achieved international acclaim, having been accredited by The New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC) in December, 2007, and the Council of International Schools (CIS) in January, 2008. The members of the 1st graduating class, the class of 2007-2208, had great success in university placement and were accepted to universities and colleges of their choice, in Turkey and abroad.
The Pre-school division has a capacity of 126 students, with 30 students in the Kindergarten, and 96 in pre-school classes. The Kindergarten has a capacity of two sections for younger students (4 year olds), and the pre-school division six sections for older students in the age range of 5-6 years. Each section has a quota of 15-16 students, where one teacher and one assistant teacher teach. Apart from the teacher and the assistant teacher of each section, in English lessons a separate teacher of English and an assistant teacher carry out the educational activities. In the Primary school division, the number of students in each section is maximum 20 students in the 1 -3 grades, and 25 in upper levels.
There are 25 students in each section in the High school division, getting prepared for the university and further in life, in the best possible way. The diploma areas for students graduating from the high school are namely Science-Mathematics, Turkish-Mathematics, Social Sciences, and Foreign Language diploma areas. Starting with the 10th grade, students choose their diploma areas and follow the specific programs.
